DIY versus PRO

This topic comes up frequently for small business owners. It is important to distinguish your DIY versus PRO design needs. It all comes down to YOUR unique business needs.

I recently discovered approximately 40% of business owners in my network are spending over 10 hours per month on DIY design tasks in an effort to market their business (some as high as 40 hours per month!).

In that same group, several named TIME as a main ‘pain point’ when thinking about marketing materials for their business.

Case Study

One of my clients recently attempted to save money by designing her own product price list.

After spending 7 hours working on the design she was unhappy with the result and hired me to help with the design.

I was able to produce a valuable & functional marketing piece that ultimately saved my client additional hours of headache.

For a small design fee the promo piece had an inviting visual appeal, it showcased the information CLEARLY with a call-to-action and contact info emphasized appropriately. The new design was reflective of my client’s brand image and was consistent with her brand guidelines.
