Tell us how you help your clients.
I help my clients break free from the dieting mentality, make peace with food, and learn to love their body again. My focus is on a lower carb, higher fat lifestyle because I believe that is what best supports women’s hormones.
I love providing recipes that help us achieve our ultimate health without using strange ingredients. I want to make this journey as effortless as possible.
Share your favourite type of project and why you enjoyed it.
My favourite project is my monthly Drop The Diets groups. These are online groups where I get to work with a small group of women to help them feel better and achieve health. It’s wonderful seeing the changes in these women over the 21 days we have together. It makes me feel good that I’m doing something to help others.
What marketing strategies have you tried this past year that have worked well for your business?
I finally decided to upgrade my website! It had been a long time coming, and I needed a change. Something more professional that would help me focus on my business. I’ve had such great feedback about my new site, I’m so happy I decided to take the plunge.
Based on your experience as a small business owner, what is the ONE most important piece of marketing advice you can offer to your entrepreneurial peers?
Don’t be afraid to just be yourself! So many entrepreneurs try to fit into a mould. Maybe someone else in the business told them to do “X” or they have received advice from multiple sources about how to run their business. But in the end, you have to do what makes YOU happy. Sure, it might not be what the majority of people in that business are doing, but your clients and future clients will relate so much more to you if you lead with your heart rather than run with the pack.
What are 1-3 most effective forms of advertising that work for your business. How do you measure success? (Based on new leads, new subscribers, engagement on social media or other)
Here are 3 things that help me grow my business:
- My free meal plan which then adds prospective clients to my email list. I’m adding dozens of new subscribers daily.
- My blog. This is the place where I get to be me and write about whatever inspires me. People find me through my recipes or other health-related topics, depending on what they are searching for. Without my blog, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My reach keeps growing every year.
- Social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. I post regularly to these sites just to keep my name out there and remain relevant. I grow my followers every day by being consistent.
I don’t really spend money on advertising my business. I prefer to focus on organic growth, that just seems more authentic to me.
