Create A Brand That Speaks To Your Ideal Client

Whether you are starting or running a business, at some point you will find yourself investigating how the logo design process works and how to develop something to best represent your awesome biz!

While your logo will be a symbol that represents who you are and what you offer, it also needs to appeal to your ideal client.

If your goal is to reach and make a positive impact with your ideal client (and I sure hope that it is!), it would be helpful to research and learn more about them.

You can do this by talking to people who want the product or service that you offer. Find out what motivates them to buy from you.

Remember…

Your brand is not what you say it is, it’s what your customers/clients say it is.

Before you begin working with your logo designer, take this opportunity to send out a survey-style email to learn WHY your existing customers enjoy working with you.

If you are stuck on how to approach this exercise, feel free to use the template below as a guide.

🌟Email opening:
Hello {Customer},

I would like to invite you to take part in a quick survey about {your products/services}.
These 5-10 minutes of your time will really help {your company} to improve and keep the focus on ensuring your happiness as a valued client.

🌟Collect some basic demographic information:

  • Age
  • Occupation
  • Location
  • Most frequented marketing channels (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, newspaper, business magazine, marketing books etc)

🌟Dig deep for more specific information:

*Be sure to ask open-ended questions.

  • When you think of {your industry here} services, what brands come to mind?
  • What traits or characteristics do you associate with {your industry/brand category}?
  • How does your experience with {your company} compare with other similar brands you have purchased from or worked with?
  • What about {your company} makes it unique?
  • What are {your company’s} strengths?
  • What are {your company’s} weaknesses?
  • Do you trust {your company}?
  • How likely is it that you would recommend {your company name} to a friend or colleague?
  • How can we improve our products/services to ensure your continued satisfaction?

🌟 Add an extra dose of motivation:

Try offering your clients a customized promo blast (via your blog, email or social media) as a “Thank You” for their survey feedback.

Everyone loves a free advertising opportunity 😊

Through this process you will not only gain deeper insight into how people perceive your brand, it will help to communicate your brand perception when developing a logo and visual brand elements for your awesome biz!
